Why This Resource Exists
Michigan provides several official paths for custody and release information, yet no single system answers every question. The Kalkaska County Sheriff keeps local jail and release records. The Michigan Department of Corrections operates OTIS for prisoners, parolees, felony probationers, and recently discharged people. Federal custody appears in the Bureau of Prisons system, while court clerks preserve the orders and judgments behind a local release. We bring those distinct paths, contacts, and request steps together without treating one database as a complete record of a person’s status.
What We Organize
The material is arranged around the record or agency that can answer each kind of release question:

- Separate facility pages for Kalkaska County Correctional Facility and Wexford County Jail, including their different roles in Kalkaska custody.
