Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search
A name, location, or other term entered in a search tool is transmitted to the outside provider operating that tool. Kalkaska County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages Sent to Us
If you email or send a contact message, we retain the information needed to read and answer it. We do not share that message outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Automatic Technical Details
Standard web systems may collect basic technical and usage details when a page loads, including:
- The visitor’s internet protocol address.
- The browser type and version.
- The device class and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on them.
- The referring website, when available.
- The date and time of each request.
Cookie Use
Cookies help measure how visitors use the site. A browser can refuse or delete them, although blocking cookies may change how some features operate.
Reasons We Use Data
Collected information supports ordinary operation and improvement of the site. We may use it to:
- Maintain performance and availability.
- Send search requests to the selected partner.
- Understand which pages visitors find useful.
- Detect and repair technical faults.

Privacy on Linked Services
Links lead to sheriff and corrections pages, release-record sources, public portals, and outside search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, that destination’s privacy policy and data practices apply.
Advertising partners may use their own technology to recognize activity across multiple websites and tailor advertising. That processing takes place on partner systems, not this site’s systems.

We do not sell personal information. Data may be available to limited parties that perform a stated function:
- Search partners that process a submitted query.
- Analytics providers that measure site use.
- Advertising networks that deliver ads.
- Law-enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Security Has Limits
We use customary safeguards appropriate to a public website. No internet-connected service can be guaranteed fully secure, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted data may contact us to request deletion.

Subject to applicable law and our ability to verify a request, you may:
- Ask for a copy of personal data we hold.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Ask that eligible personal information be deleted.
- Opt out of certain forms of processing where that choice applies.
